Hi TC and others,
The "backspace not working" problem can be simulated in the following way:
prompt % xfapp # backspace works fine
prompt % xfapp < /dev/null # backspace fails
prompt % remsh rhost "setenv DISPLAY $DISPLAY; xfapp" # backspace fails
So, if there exists no stdin the backspace key starts to fail.
Maybe this could be of help in tracking down the bug ?
