Damn good idea. In case of error you want to force the user into taking
a corrective or evasive action, and therefore an alert that "blocks"
would be appropriate. Under benign circumstances, the Netscape behavior
can be adopted, although, IHMO, I see no need for keeping alerts around.
Alerts should just do what they need to do and then quietly go away until
they're needed again.
