To subscribers of the xforms list from Marisa Giancarla <marisa@andromedia.com> :

I am looking at tools to help me quickly build a GUI front-end to an Empire
like game, and before I look into Xforms further I wanted to know if it will be
able to handle having childprocess's under it's control which it must answer in
real-time even if the user is doing something with the GUI.

That is, I want to be ablt the GUI up and then fork off other processes
which will handle talking to the game server "behind the users back" even as
the click on manipulate the graphical map, program their ships, etc. So I need
to have a central event loop that handles events from the primary GUI window
just like events from the child processes without hanging while getting user
input.
Is this possible with XForms without unreasonable amounts of work?

Marisa
