I am also in the middle of writing a x based manual browser (among other
things) and I parse the man page to find the "SEE ALSO" section so I can
link standard man pages. I hope it to have a web browserish interface
with history and cashing and the whole thing. In any case, it would be
nice if there was a way I could have a user select a particular word,
rather than a particular line. As of right now I have to split each link
to a separate line. One solution would be to have the browser return not
only the selected line, but also the position (ie. the number of
characters to the right of the left margin) in the selected line. Is this
possible now? The client program should have no problem with more than
one link on the same line then. Any thoughts?
