To subscribers of the xforms list from Orlando Andico <orly@gibson.eee.upd.edu.ph> :

I just realized something, and thought it might be useful. When building
the XForms shared library on Linux, at least, wouldn't it be possible to
embed version information in the library, i.e.

gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,libforms.so.0 -o libforms.so.0.86 *.o

(or something like this)

There aren't much differences at the binary level between versions, I
think, and it's somewhat annoying, what with version 0.84, 0.85, and now
0.86 coming out in quick succession, for an old binary to refuse to run
due to a minor version change in the library, then I have to recompile the
whole thing..
