To subscribers of the xforms list from Tano Fotang <M.Tano@Wirtschaft.FH-Wolfenbuettel.DE> :

hello,

how can one programatically remove a goodie from the screen?

This application reads from servers and sometimes data arrives

that has to be saved. The fselector Goodie is then automatically

displayed for the user to specify a filename.

However, the server cancels the send request if no reply to it's

SEND request arrives within 40 secs. Therefore, a file selector
is displayed and a random filename sent if the user doesnt type

in a filename within 35 secs ( sig_alrm, setjmp, alarm,...). This works

fine except that the Goodie wont and cant be made to disappear when it
gets timed-out, and only a kill from a shell can then shut down then
program.

THis also happened with fl_show_messages(now solved by using forms and
then fl_hide_xx/fl_free_xx after timeout). The file selector is the
problem now.

Thx in adv. for any ideas. Fotang.
