Another library worth looking at is PLplot, which is similar to
pgplot but is 'C' based (ftp://dino.ph.utexas.edu/plplot/).
More generally try looking at
http://www-ocean.tamu.edu/~baum/graphics-graph-libraries.html
for a pretty good listing of available graphics library software.
(This WWW site also maintains useful listings of integrated graphics
packages, analysis tools etc.)
