The glx_init function in the standard gl.c distributed with XForms
does not use the default Colormap but creates its own. This means
that if you're on a PseudoColor display, you're likely to get Colormap
switching, which is exactly what's happening to you. If you use my
hacked gl.c, the default Colormap will get used and you should be in
good shape.
