XForms: Use fdesign and RTFM

To subscribers of the xforms list from spl@szechuan.ucsd.edu (Steve Lamont) :

I don't want to flame on this subject or to particularly pick on any
individual poster but it seems to me that a lot of traffic on this
list consists of questions that the poster could answer on their own
by a quick experiment or by referring to the manual.

One of the great beauties of XForms and `fdesign', IMNSHO, is that you
can quickly construct experimental user interfaces and test out things
without writing volumes of code. For instance, I often answer
questions on this list by quickly creating a Form with `fdesign',
adding a couple of lines of code, compiling and running.

I realize that for a number of folks on this list English is a second
(or maybe third or fourth) language and not everything might be
entirely clear in the manual from a non-English speaker's perspective
but, for most of us, the manual is (or should be) a *wonderful*
resource -- light years better than half the payware documentation out
there (anyone ever work with Datacube Imageflow?), lucidly written and
well indexed.

Also, while it's kind of doggy slow at times, there are archives for
this mailing list and a lot of questions have been answered there (see
below).

Now I should say that I do enjoy making my contributions to the list
and it amuses me to ferret out answers to questions (it must the the
latent pedagog in me) but perhaps a little research and
experimentation by folks before posting might be in order sometimes.
