Well, I'd sort of prefer that the colors match those in the server's
rgb database. I discovered the disparity when I was trying to draw
Xpm pixmaps on top of XForms backgrounds. Since Xpm clearly uses the
database, I think it would be better if XForms did too.

Of course, if you set the gamma to anything other than 1.0, things go
kaflooey anyhow.

I really wish X had some sort of global gamma control so that one
didn't have to diddle the LUT manually. Most folks probably don't
have to mess with this since they have sane displays but those of us
stuck on only Sun 4/370s need all the help we can get. :-) For
instance, half the pages I pull up with Netscrape are unreadable due
to the 1.0 gamma of a Sun display. :-(
