I may be completely wrong, but it sounds like you need to change the
graphics context. When using just Xlib calls, I need to create a graphics
context with glXCreateContext and then to make gl calls to a window
I use glXMakeCurrent. I believe that to make gl calls go to a different
window, glXMakeCurrent needs to be called with the X window ID.
As I said, I may be wrong. For my GL codes, I create my own X windows
for GL rendering, and use xforms just for the GUI.
buona fortuna,
Kevin
