XForms: RedHat 5.0 Linux on Alpha: xforms package (even as distributed by RedHat) doesn't work

To subscribers of the xforms list from Christian Worley <cworley@altatech.com> :

Hi,

In going to RedHat5.0, everything has to be recompiled (I believe
because of the new "glibc"), and since xforms source is not available, I
can no longer use it.

For example:

$ ls -l /usr/local/bin/fdesign
-rwx--x--x 1 root root 899560 Jan 8 1998
/usr/local/bin/fdesign
$ /usr/local/bin/fdesign
/usr/local/bin/fdesign: Command not found.

Even the RedHat 5.0 powertools disk for the Alpha includes the
non-functional xforms package. I guess they don't test everything.
