This is specific to the FreeBSD version of forms. I'm trying to trace down
a really nasty pointer bug which seems to corrupt some of the form
library's data. The results of this bug are that when you a form receives
an event it dumps core and the program terminates. I've run gdb on the
core file and done a backtrace to find that the program is off in the loop
somewhere that started at the fl_do_forms call. I need to know how I can
statically link the my application (or at least the forms library) so I
can get a disassembly trace to figure out what piece of memory my program
or the forms library was trying to access. Then I can examine my pointers
to figure out which of them is pointing near the offending area.
Currently when I try to link the program statically with gcc -static
or by specifying the libforms.a library I get an unresolved external
to __GLOBAL_OFFSET_TABLE__.

I'd appreciate any help with this

Chris
