I believe I've seen this problem too. It relates to the use of structs
to initialise menus using fl_set_menu_entries(). It appears that no
attributes can be programmatically set when the menu is initialised
this way. This does not apply when the menu is initialised with
fl_addto_menu(). I noticed similar problems with earlier versions
which I posted to this list at the time, but it still seems to be with
us in .88.1
This problem is made worse for users of fdesign, which currently
forgets the status of the "use structs" toggle on the menus Spec
form. Consequently even if one checks structs off, on editing the form
with fdesign the 'use structs' defaults to on and so the new code will
use structure initialisation. So my solution till TC fixes this is to
not use fdesign to set menu items, but to do it all in my own code.
