XForms: xform,lyx, slackware

    Hello,
    I am new on the mailing-list xforms.
    Myname is Gerard Robin.
    I live in the suburb of Paris.
    I am working in a hight school.
    I use linux with the Slackware 7.0 ( on a 486 66 DX2 )

    I got lyx-1.1.4 and bxform-088.tgz
    I had problem to install lyx and I submit the mail
    that I interchanged with the lyx mailing-list :

    robin> configure and make works successfully.
    robin> (apparently), but when I do src/lyx I get the message :
    robin> segmentation fault

    Hmm, slackware is glibc2.1-based, isn't it? Did you get the xforms
    library for glibc2.1? Otherwise the known result of mixing libraries
    can be what you describe.

    So I have replaced bxform-088 by bxforms-088-glibc21
    I launched "make" in the directory /xforms and I got :

    ../FORMS/libforms.so:file not recognized :File format not recognized
    collect 2 :id return 1 exit status
    make[1]:{freedraw] Error 1 (ignored)

    I launched "./configure" in ../lyx wich works fine apparently,
     but "make" abort with this message :

    **********************************************************
    /usr/local/xforms/FORMS/libforms.so:file not recognized :File format not
    recognized
    collect 2 :id return 1 exit status
    make[3]:***[lyx] Error 1
    make[3]:leaving .....................
    make[2]:***[all-recursive] Error 1
    .....................................

    Can someone help me with this problem ? what is the
    suitable library xforms for glibc2.1 ?
