that sounds great. However, I wonder if you might not find FLTK (Fast Light 
ToolKit http://www.fltk.org) fits your needs already. Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm 
the guy fronting xforms, not fltk. 

Nonetheless, and without wanting to appear disloyal to xforms, FLTK has an 
active developer community (which IMO counts for a lot), it has multithreaded 
support already and, perhaps most importantly, it has an xforms -> fltk 
converter so porting your app might well be painless.
