What version of XForms are you running? This used to be a problem in
0.75 and earlier, I think, on TrueColor visuals.

Does your Solaris box have a 24-bit frame buffer, perchance? If it's
the error that I'm thinking it is, a workaround is to run your XForms
application in PseudoColor mode (-visual PseudoColor).
