I have made and run the test code on my SGI Indy under IRIX 5.3
using the 0.81 libs (still have the newer versions under "test"!)
The window on initial mapping is black, but on putting the pointer
into the window (focus policy is "in window" with 4Dwm) then the
window goes to grey (i.e. one of the greys in the new colourmap).
The messages on the consol are:
At window mapping:
colormap = 04c00038
activate done -- 04c00039
04c00038 True Not installed
After focus shift to canvas window:
windows with custom colormaps = 1
0 04c00039
04c00038 False Installed
