My first guess whenever I see a field that is "invisible" (do
you see a cursor? Usually you do) is that the field height is too
small to display the full character of the font. Usually I see this in
my ap as I port from one OS to another if they have different font
sizes available and I have made the field size too close to the
borderline (better to leave extra vertical room in input fields).
Maybe something changed in 0.86 that is causing it to think
that it needs more space in your input fields. As a test, try making
the "invisible" input fields 4 or 6 pixels taller...
