I don't know that fdesign makes that assumption but it's certainly
easier to manage that way (all in one file). For example, since many
of my forms have recurring elements (titles, etc.), it makes it easier
to copy them from form to form if they're all in the same .fd file.

Speaking of fdesign wish lists, my two biggest WIBNIs are (1) fdesign
remembering the alignment settings (both in the align dialog box and
for keyboard placement) from session to session, and (2) the ability
to change and carry forward some of the defaults, such as font, font
size, and default colors, since in my experience at least the defaults
are almost never what I want.
