XForms: Possible browser bug(s)

# To subscribers of the xforms list from Dave Gotwisner <DGotwisn@Wyse.com> :

I am running Xforms 0.88 under Slackware Linux.

I created a browser object with multiple columns, using tabs to separate
them.

The list is larger (horizontally) than the window, so I get a horizontal
scroll bar. Because the text in the columns is variable width, I can't use
a proportional font, or the columns won't line up.

If I use a fixed width font (either 10 or 12 point, it doesn't matter), when
I scroll horizontally, I get the bottom line of text not scrolling (ie, junk
is left on the screen). Furthermore, the first column of one of the lines
was an _, and it goes away after scrolling also (result of scrolling left
and right ends up looking like a space for the first character on that line.
It appears that the vertical spacing between lines is one or two pixels less
than the font metrics (descenders for y, g, and other characters also
disappear).

Has anyone seen this, and if so, does anyone have a workaround or a fix?
Ideally, I would like to use the proportional font and get the tabs right,
but if not, I can live with fixed fonts (assuming the abovementioned side
effect can be solved).

Thanks in advance,

Dave
