The manual pages should be on your system if X has been installed
properly. Did you try typing

man XPutImage

If you are serious about Xlib programming, you should also get a copy
of the Xlib Programming Manual (O'Reilly and Associates). Having a
hard copy of this manual (or a similar manual -- there are several
available but IMHO the O'Reilly manual is about the best) is almost
mandatory.
