Not to be glib, but I would imagine that for all kinds of reasons, the
best way to do this is to write your application using HTML/CGI/Java
and forget about XForms. You'll gain all kinds of subtle and
not-so-subtle benefits without having to code them yourself.

I know that I've resisted this several times in the past few years
when working on "browsing" applications, and hindsight has always
shown me that I've been wrong. Without Java, its hard to get a
web-based version to behave *exactly* right, although with some
ingenuity, you can get pretty close. With Java, you can get just what
you want. Either way, the result ends up being portable across
platforms, inherently distributed, and comes with a control and
customization framework thats already very developed and
fairly sophisticated.
