I don't understand at all what you're asking. Can you create an
example that shows this behavior?

By saying you "can't type in the form" do you mean that the form loses
focus and that the focus is set to the screen console (what does this
mean? a console window? Are you running `xconsole'?). Is the form
otherwise functional (can you click on buttons and get an action?) Do
you have "click to focus" turned on in your window manager?

Or do you mean that your output is written to an `xterm' rather than
your file? It sounds as if you have inadvertently closed the output
file and are instead writing to standard error or standard output.
