Hi Ravi,
Looks like what you described is still present
in the current version, although quite intermitantly.
I'll look into it.
As for getting rid of . and .., there appears to be
no way of doing it right now. However, it's a simple
change for me to allow the filter to filter directories.
So unless someone comes up with a reason it's bad
idea, I will make the changes.
