    There are a couple of freely available tools which I use for debugging
    memory problems -- Conor Cahill's `dbmalloc' and Bruce Perens's
    "Electric Fence."

    Both work pretty well on single threaded programs. I've managed to
    kluge "Electric Fence" to work in a multithreaded application.
