# To subscribers of the xforms list from "T.C. Zhao" <tc_zhao@yahoo.com> :

I just want to say thanks to Steve for his contribution and support
over the years, and for his willingness to take over the management
of xforms, and to set the direction for it over its new open source life.

Obviously there are a lot of work to be done to set up
an efficient, democratic and yet controlled process so the
user community at large can contribute and at the same time
have a person to turn to for integration and updating
for releases that benefit everyone. Under LGPL,
there is nothing preventing anyone from releasing
modified/enhanced version of xforms or patches, it is my hope
that some kind of cooperation can arise from this freedom
so we can always have a formal and tested process
for releases, at least for the "main branch".

If you can land a helping hand to Steve, please do.
We're learning this process. Managing a closed
source project takes a lot of care to do it right,
and I can just imagine that it'll take more to
do an open source project right. Please be patient.
