    Hm. That should be part of the system's basic `libc.so'. Sounds like
    something's broken somewhere.

    Do the XForms tools, such as `fdesign', build and work? If so, then
    it may be that something in your own application building procedure is
    fubar.

    Hm. Are you specifying `-nostdlib' or `-L' with no argument as a link
    option? This could be causing `libc.so' not to be searched. However,
    I'd expect that you'd get lots more unresolved externals in that case.
