    I would not say that the NT and OS2 files are redundant, but rather
    we do not know what to do with them.

    Angus> Would anybody object if I removed them?

    Why not move them to some historical/ subdir?

    Angus> Ie, what text files are expected to be present and what should

    The automake manual mentions:
      * The files `INSTALL', `NEWS', `README', `COPYING', `AUTHORS', and
        `ChangeLog' are required at the topmost directory of the package.

    In our case, it will be COPYING.LIB, of course. INSTALL can be taken
    from autoconf.

    Do you plan to nuke local.h first, or do it later on?
