The library is alive and well, but the savannah web site was hacked. 
Everything is now working fine again, but the download page is not yet 
repaired.

Find the xforms 1.0 release (871kB) at
http://www.devel.lyx.org/~leeming/xforms-1.0.tar.gz
and today's cvs snapshot (989kB) at 
http://www.devel.lyx.org/~leeming/xforms-1.0.2.tar.gz

The code is little changed, but we've migrated the build away from Imake to 
the GNU autotools. It should be trivially easy to build and install now...

There is no relation at all. The xforms gui toolkit has been around since the 
mid-80's, so could claim to have 'been there first' ...
