[XForms] Crash in fl_check_forms

We are using xforms-0.89 for a software project involving the South African
Large Telescope.  Since most of the telescope system is coded in LabView
I needed to include a LabView shell which calls various C functions in
a shared library.  Much of the functionality in the C code resides in an
image display and GUI built around xforms.

I've had no problem at all until recently when I've been experiencing
a segmentation fault soon after starting the program.  This fault occurs
at sporadic intervals, not always.  I've tracked it down to a call to
fl_check_forms.  Somewhere in here it is referencing an illegal address.
I know very little about XEvents.  Can anyone offer some suggestions?
