Are using SuSE and the xforms version shipped with it? If you do, then
you should update to the latest revision of the xforms package, which
has a bug like this one fixed. Their version of xforms includes a
still not official internationalization patch (to allow entering CJK
characters) whic had problems. This got debugged on the LyX list a few
months ago.
