Never had that happen but on occasion and in an unpredictable fashion,
I've had the X server lock up and eventually go away and die on me
when starting up an XForms application (not fdesign, though) while in
the program development cycle (type, compile, link, core
dump... repeat as necessary). I eventually get kicked back to the XDM
login screen, at which point I can log in as normal.

This occurs on an X11R5 server under SunOS 4.1.4 on a clunky old Sun
4/370 that serves mostly as a rather noisy and slow Xterm in my
office. My SunOS 4.1.4, X11R6.1 SPARC 5 at home has never done this,
however.

I suspect more of an X server problem than an fdesign problem inasmuch
as a user application should *never* crash system software, no matter
what they may think at Microsoft and at Apple.
