# To subscribers of the xforms list from Chris Rennie <rennie@Physics.usyd.edu.au> :

I have just upgraded from V0.86 to V0.88 on my Linux/i386 system,
and am having a small problem with fdesign...

When specifying the attributes of an object, and it comes to
entering the name, I keep on getting my entries rejected. E.g.,
if the object is to be called "ShowData", the error message reads:
Invalid C identifier specified for object Name
ShowData

Strangely, one-character names are accepted.

It is version 0.53 of fdesign. I can't create new forms (with
long names), nor can I use fdesign to modify existing forms. Yet
I can recompile existing applications with the new library and
they all run okay. My other version of fdesign is V0.47, and
it continues to work fine. I still have libc.so.5.3.12, so it
was bxform-088.tgz that I downloaded.

What is happening?

Chris
