I get:
[root@localhost bin]# fdesign -version
fdesign (FORM Designer) Beta 0.53a of 1998/02/23 05:47:03
Copyright (c) 1996-1998 by T.C. Zhao and Mark Overmars

ldd reports:
[root@localhost bin]# ldd fdesign
libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6.1
libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5.0.6
libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5.3.12

So everything seems to be in order. I don't have any other versions
of these libraries anywhere.

Quite possibly. Tano Fotang commented that I had an old libc.
Perhaps he can be more specific: does fdesign need a more recent
version of libc.so.5, or does it need libc.so.6? It is not clear
to me what I should do next though.
