# To subscribers of the xforms list from Doug Roberts <roberts@tsasa.lanl.gov> :

I sent this out last night, but never saw it on the list:

A couple of work associates are porting one of my xforms applications
to NT (I know: why?). The are using gcc from Cygnus and the X11R6.3
distribution built for cygwin32 as well as the NT version of
libforms.a. The app compiles and links, but when they try to run it
they get the following error:

>From the command line, I try running it by typing:
>
> ./Syn.exe -display Owl:0.0
>
>The response I get is as follows:
>
> Missing or failed fl_initialize()
>
>I know this function is an Xforms function, so I decide maybe the
>libforms.a file has a problem. It's the only library we have, so there
>doesn't seem to be anywhere else to check. The Xforms distribution comes
>with about 50 demo programs to illustrate the functionality of buttons,
>sliders, etc., so I build the demo programs by configuring and running
>their make file. I tested about a half-dozen of these demo programs and
>they all worked fine.

>fl_initialize() is called by the demo programs, and they still work fine.
>I searched the disk, and there is only one libforms.a file, so there is not
>confusion about the library file.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Thanks,
