# To subscribers of the xforms list from spl@szechuan.ucsd.edu (Steve Lamont) :

After a long delay, I've finally had the time to get my long ago
promised color quantization library in shape for distribution. It
should be useful for image display applications in XForms and
elsewhere where you need to quantize a 24-bit color (TrueColor) image
down to 8 bits for use with a PseudoColor Visual.

The library is available at

ftp://ncmir.ucsd.edu/pub/quantize/quantize-1.0.tgz

or

ftp://ncmir.ucsd.edu/pub/quantize/quantize-1.0.tar.Z

(GNU `gzip' or standard, crufty, old Unix `compress', respectively).
Check the README file for details on how to build the library on any
reasonably sane Unix system equipped with `imake'.
