With the help your testing, I've fixed the 16bit display problem.
Turned out to be a macro expansion bug. It may also fix
the 24bpp problem as well but I can't test it as my X server
is 32bpp.

I've updated linux/glibc2.1 and linux/libc5 version. Let me know
how it goes.
