You have the proper function call, as far as I can see. The last two
parameters are for handling resources. Refer to Appendix C of the
manual for details.

You're probably not getting far enough into fl_initialize() to even
parse the parameters. It really looks as if there's some sort of
library skew or incompatibility problem. What does the traceback look
like in the debugger?

Be so kind as to remind me what system you're running on.
