The bxform-0.88 you tried is three years old!
Please try with bxform089-glibc2.1.tgz instead. Since that was
compiled on a Debian Gnu/Linux 2.2 (potato) machine, it will
probably work better.
But you might want to simply install the Debian package:
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/woody/non-free/binary-sparc/libs/libforms0.89_0.89-8.deb
It depends on:
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1.2), xlib6g, xpm4g
which I think will be okay on potato (check first). Don't wait
too long because at some point libforms0.89_0.89-9 will be
installed in the archive and it won't be potato-compatible. (I
guess I should make a copy of the potato-compatible packages
while I still can too).
