For the last couple of days I've been attempting to get RC5 ready for
release and things have gone slower than I had hoped. It turns out
we've installed a new version of `gcc' (version 3.1.1) which breaks
some things in the build on Solaris. It took me a while to figure out
exactly what was broken and develop workarounds/hacks.
With any form of luck, I should have the kinks worked out in the build
(including the shared libraries -- ick!) by this weekend.
