[XForms] OpenVMS application

Hi. I finally succeeded in building and running my OpenVMS application
which uses xforms. However, I keep getting this "Bad file Number" message
for as long as xforms is up. The same thing happens when I run the demos.

I'm using the binary (shared library) from version .88; the last binary (at
least the last one still left anywhere) out there. I know someone not
familiar with my dilemma is going to ask why don't I use the open source
version 1.0.90. It's because I'm building on OpenVMS WITHOUT
GNV!! Therefore, it's extremely difficult if not impossible to handle
situations such as missing files because they're automatically generated by
automake, which I don't have access to! Angus, I appreciate all the help
you gave me in providing me with scripts to generate some of these files --
and in some cases with the files themselves. However, I just encountered
too many hurdles that in some cases proved impossible to overcome. At some
future point in time, I'll go the open source route -- but right now we're
trying to get on the fast track to show our users we're actually doing
something.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing this 'Bad file number'
message? Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Gayle
