This would appear to be a different problem. The `xhost' message
looks like
Xlib: connection to "spl.extern.ucsd.edu:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
formsapp: Can't open display spl.extern.ucsd.edu:0.0
This is *not* related to linking at all.
